Why choose Dogs Unlimited?
We are a small privately owned licensed/insured dog boarding business ran from home. Your dog/s will be made welcome in our home where they can make themselves feel comfy anywhere they want, on the settees if you allow it. They can sleep upstairs in their bed if that is what they are used to. Your dog/s will become one of the family and be treated with the same loving care and respect as my two do with plenty of cuddles to go round. They will be taken lots of lovely walks with the company of other dogs. I have pet first aid and carry a first aid kit with me on walks.
Will my dog be walked on or off lead?
Your dog will be walked on a lead or long lead in open safe areas. Dog off lead walks are only by your written signed agreement. Bonding with me first is best before doing so and only if he or she has good recall.
Your dog will wear a 'dogs unlimited' tag whilst in our care.
How will you keep in touch whilst I am on holiday?
Your contact details are taken during the booking process, so messages and photos can be sent via Whatapp, text message or email. Frequency of contact is down to you, some owners like daily contact & others once every 4 days or so. Whatever suits you.
What do i need to bring?
Only your dogs bed/blanket, just enough food to last the holiday (please don't bring more than necessary, due to limited storage space) treats, grooming brushes (if needed), dog coat, collar & lead & vaccination card (not forgetting your dog) It maybe best not to bring any toys as they may find their way to be buried or hidden in the garden by my Spaniels, they are not destructive but other boarding dogs may be, so it maybe wise to not bring any.
Non destructible toys/ kong and balls, spare leads, harnesses, dog towels, dog bowls of all sizes are supplied.
How do I book?
Walking services & drop in visits
A visit will be arranged to meet you and your dog/s, pick up key, gather instructions at your home. A terms and conditions form and booking information forms need to be filled in. You will be able to look over my professional documentation for your peace of mind. This includes DBS check, insurance and first aid certificate. If your dog/s is booked in for hourly walks, these are taken midday. Half hourly walks and visits are done between10.30-11.30 and 2.30-3.30pm.
Arrangement of a meet & greet to see if the dogs get on first. If all goes well & you would like to make a booking, then a deposit is needed to secure the dates. This is fully refundable if you cancel 12 weeks prior to day of arrival. A booking information form with your dogs details and booking form with dates/times you require. Also a signed copy of the terms and conditions. A confirmation email will be sent to you confirming the booking.
A trial day or overnight stay may be advisable for new dogs to help them adjust and get to know us. Normal day care rates will apply.
My dog boarding license, insurance, DBS & pet first aid certificates will be made available for you to look at.
What do i need to bring to a meet and Greet?
Your dog/s to see if they all get on and vaccination card.
Do you board all breeds of dogs?
No, small to medium dogs generally fit in better with my set up. These include Spaniels and Spaniel crosses, Cockapoos, Cavaliar King Charles, Pugs, Shih tzu, Lhasa apso, Bichon Frise. Large lazy dogs are considered (Retrievers).
Do you board Puppies under One year old?
No, it would be very unfair on my now two middle aged dogs. Highly active/boisterous dogs will not be boarded with us.
Do you do overnight house sitting in my house?
Sorry no, I have my own dogs to look after.
All effort is made to walk your dog but very occasionally especially during the winter the weather may be too severe to go out. In this case, you have the option to cancel the walk or the alotted time could be spent in your home to let your dog out to toilet, give human company, cuddles & play for the duration of the booking, breaking the day up for him/her.
During the summer months when/if temperatures sore, can make midday walks difficult and a long walk may have to be cut short or rescheduled for an earlier or later time during the day.
Water for the dogs is carried with me on all warm weather walks.
